{"id":3247,"date":"2026-10-23T13:57:41","date_gmt":"2026-10-23T13:57:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.rubiconpeople.co.uk\/?job_listing=applications-engineer"},"modified":"2026-10-23T13:57:41","modified_gmt":"2026-10-23T13:57:41","slug":"applications-engineer","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.rubiconpeople.co.uk\/?job_listing=applications-engineer","title":{"rendered":"Applications Engineer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Applications Engineer &#8211; Coventry &#8211; up to &pound;40,000 per annum<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">A &pound;40,000 office-based role for an engineer who enjoys getting into the detail of how a hydraulic system really works.<br \/> Customers will come to you with a problem, and you&rsquo;ll be the expert who works out exactly which solution they need.<br \/> It&rsquo;s a specialist role in a settled, focused environment, where your technical knowledge is properly valued.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>As an Applications Engineer, you will benefit from:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>An annual performance bonus of up to 5%<\/li>\n<li>25 days holiday plus bank holidays<\/li>\n<li>An early finish on Fridays, with the option to start at 7am and finish at 3pm<\/li>\n<li>An office-based role in Coventry, with no constant travel<\/li>\n<li>A close-knit, open plan site of around 15 people<\/li>\n<li>The chance to build deep specialist knowledge of hydraulic valve and manifold technology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>As an Applications Engineer, your responsibilities will include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Talking customers through their hydraulic system requirements and recommending the right products for each application<\/li>\n<li>Designing hydraulic manifold solutions, producing and reviewing schematics and technical documentation<\/li>\n<li>Developing and validating solutions, including supporting prototypes, testing and the test lab<\/li>\n<li>Investigating and resolving technical and application issues using root cause analysis<\/li>\n<li>Supporting customer projects from concept to production, working with sales, engineering, manufacturing and supply chain<\/li>\n<li>Providing technical guidance and training to customers and colleagues, including occasional on-site commissioning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>As an Applications Engineer, your experience will include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>A background in the <strong>hydraulics<\/strong> or <strong>fluid power<\/strong> industry, so you can hit the ground running<\/li>\n<li>Hydraulic schematic design and interpretation, with knowledge of valve and manifold technologies<\/li>\n<li>An understanding of electromechanical and <strong>electro-hydraulic<\/strong> control systems<\/li>\n<li>Experience with <strong>mobile<\/strong> or <strong>industrial equipment hydraulics<\/strong> (desirable)<\/li>\n<li><strong>3D CAD<\/strong>, hydraulic simulation or testing experience (desirable)<\/li>\n<li>Clear technical communication and report writing skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">If you&rsquo;re an <strong>Applications Engineer<\/strong> who wants to be the trusted technical expert in a stable, specialist business, this is a role you can really settle into and grow.
