{"id":2720,"date":"2026-09-17T16:08:21","date_gmt":"2026-09-17T16:08:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.rubiconpeople.co.uk\/?job_listing=buyer"},"modified":"2026-09-17T16:08:21","modified_gmt":"2026-09-17T16:08:21","slug":"buyer","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.rubiconpeople.co.uk\/?job_listing=buyer","title":{"rendered":"Buyer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Buyer &#8211; Poole &#8211; Up to &pound;35,000 per annum<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Earning up to<strong> &pound;35,000<\/strong>, this <strong>Buyer<\/strong> role is less about box ticking and more about who you are.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">You&#8217;ll join a small, tight knit purchasing team who back each other daily and say exactly what they think.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">If you can hold your own, move fast and don&#8217;t take yourself too seriously, you&#8217;ll fit right in.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>As a Buyer, you will benefit from:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>A genuine route to a permanent position for the right fit<\/li>\n<li>Bonus scheme after 6 months&#8217; probation<\/li>\n<li>35 hour week, with an early finish on Fridays<\/li>\n<li>25 days holiday plus bank holidays<\/li>\n<li>5% employer pension contribution<\/li>\n<li>On-site canteen<\/li>\n<li>Employee Assistance Programme<\/li>\n<li>Summer and Christmas staff parties<\/li>\n<li>Free on-site parking<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>As a Buyer, your responsibilities will include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Scheduling and expediting incoming materials against forecast demand, including components with lead times of 12 months or more<\/li>\n<li>Generating and issuing purchase orders to nominated suppliers within your commodity area<\/li>\n<li>Managing supplier relationships end to end, resolving non-conformances and price discrepancies<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining accurate procurement data within the ERP\/MRP system<\/li>\n<li>Identifying and delivering cost saving opportunities across your commodity base<\/li>\n<li>Liaising closely with production, quality and technical teams to keep supply on track<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>As a Buyer, your experience will include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Buying experience within a <strong>manufacturing<\/strong> environment, ideally including components such as electrical parts, hoses, or rubber and fastenings<\/li>\n<li>Comfort working with long lead times and shifting priorities in a fast-paced setting<\/li>\n<li>Confidence using <strong>ERP\/MRP systems<\/strong>, Oracle experience an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Strong Excel skills, including building and checking formulas<\/li>\n<li>A resilient, straight talking personality suited to a close-knit, hands-on team<\/li>\n<li>Openness to working towards a procurement qualification such as <strong>CIPS<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">If you want a <strong>Buyer<\/strong> role where your personality counts as much as your procurement skills, and you&#8217;re ready to get stuck into a fast-moving purchasing team, this could be the one.
